Guest Top Chalker
TC mate,i ain't no liar,if i go out and catch one hare i would say i caught one hare,i never tell lies mate especially when it comes to dogs as it will only come back and bite you on the arse. The dog i have now probably wouldn't be capable of doing double figures in one field but in saying that he has caught seven in one field and my eldest son was with me when he done it,and your totally correct mate i was in the field for nigh on three quarters of an hour the night i caught fourteen in the one field,my dogs obviously ain't that super or like you say i would of only been in for thirty odd minutes. In your 32 years of running dogs TC i can only say you must of been a bit of a part timer if you've never seen some of the feats i've spoke of,either that or you ain't had the right ammunition to go to war with.Cheers Andy. your right andy i must be a part timer as i have never seen this done , maybe in the next 32 years i will be lucky enough to see such a feat , ok enough said , did u get your new pup , you say it has blondie in it do u no how ??????? Guest Top Chalker
TC i don't know much about the Saluki bloodlines mate, the lad who owns her told me Blondie(Sankey) stuff was her make up,the bitch is owned by Peter the Beaters friend and Peter informs me that she is a cracker, her only downfall is over keeness if there is such a thing, she is lame on a regular basis due to rips, broken toes, usually due to wherever the quarry runs she follows, hedges, ditches, holes in walls nothing stops her,she just blazes straight on into whatever obstacles are infront of her.The lads inform me she will tackle anything and everything,so perhaps with the mix of my old warhorse thrown into the mixing bowl the pups may be ok.I'm actually going to get the pup in the morning so i'll get some pics banged on tomorrow.Cheers Andy. Ok mate see if u can find out a bit more about her breeding , and i might be able to tell u a bit about it , Good luck with the pups , I will be litterally around the corner from your house on Sunday coming down to see a man about a dog :11: :11: Quote Link to post
c_greg 1
I have changed my mind about minshaw lurchers -they are crap. All those photographs of deer hares and rabbits game going back 25 plus years are worthless fakes. ASD is a complete liar. HBG knows feck all. The cumbrian lads (and me years ago)who have owned minshaw dogs would have been better off with hancock dogs. The van I used to see laden with antlers and various game pulling into a game dealers yard twenty years ago must have been an hallucination-somebody must have spiked my drinks for years The evidence you lads who believe minshaw are myths have provided has persuaded me minshaw dogs are a waste of time.Has anyone got hancocks telephone number? I am going to buy a real dog! Ps that lad Harehunter who pretended to be an innocent young un who asked if anybody kept minshaw lurchers on this site was in reality a shit stirrer who wanted his dad bad mouthed because he happens to loves his dogs and his chosen game. PS. In reply to a different post. In 1977 i saw 24 hares in one field. I lived in a farm cottage on the famous kinmount estate -home of the scottish national coursing championship ,until some cumbrian bugger decimated the hares on the estate -with a little help from me. There was heavy snow and the grass in a small field had not been cut short and the hares had flocked to what feed they could get. On a few occasions I have also seen hares run towards a dog killing a hare to investigate the squeels of a hare in distress. So I for one have no problem with ASD's claim of 14 hares in one field. Wait a minute I had forgottem Minshaw dogs are a myth-sorry ASD you are a bullshitter and a liar. Round 3 ding dong :11: :11: :11: Quote Link to post
THE STIFFMEISTER 15,876
SINCE THE MID NINETIES when I came into the lurcher game..Ive never met a cumbrian lurcher man who hasnt at one point had a minshaw dog and no one has a bad word about them.. they are a TYPE a true breeding type that throughs like for like IE look at andys older pics of dogs like Bulpa and compare them to the pups as they come through..Ive witnessed GHs dog on numerous occassions and I would say that it is the best dog Ive ever seen working. Also as for the breeding I think that the locality IE west Cumbria marra lol and the dogs looks IE ugly lol with massive legs , bucket heads and deep chests gives the game away of the secret ingredient and The fact Victor telt me He put bull in them to "keeep them running quiet" .....
