Guest CharlieC
Get it outside in the kennel. If you have an older dog that can be trusted, kennel them together, if not kennel it on its own with plenty of toys, chews and stuff, it can roar away to its hearts content out there and you wont lose your sanity (hopefully ) Quote Link to post

Guest chilli
then you soak it with a hose Quote Link to post
Guest CharlieC
fill a plant sprayer with water and skoosh her every time she makes a noise, (I think a hose is a bit severe for a young pup ) then reward her when shes quiet. Watch out though cos if you do this with some pups, they actually start to think its a game and they enjoy it Quote Link to post

Guest Dave
To preserve your sanity wait outside the room in the house it sleaps in and soon as it howels jump in threw the door with a roled up magazine and hit the floor or wall with the mag it will make a right racket and scare the shit out of the dog. Back out side the door and wait for it to cry again then same detail jump in make racket scare dog. dont make eye contact or say a single word to the dog or it will think it has acheived its aim in howling which is ofcours to get your atention whether that bee good or bad. My lurcher started doing the same when her mate passed on it was driving me mad bet she is qured now. I still got the odd whinge but none of the head back howeling at the moon she now has a new [bANNED TEXT] a lab actualy and they are both very quiet together until they want out for a piss at 7 am which i can live with.
