geneology line breeding????

HELLO, I am keeping the strain of short legged chunky russels going that my father worked and bred and added to for x years some of my grandfathers old hard queen anne legged lines were traced and added to the breeding about ten years ago, now I am a big fan of borders myself but this strain which has been around my village has never failed to locate quarry they are stubborn and never jib to the most formidable of quarry and are as gamey as other breeds I have passed on and are also a powerful jawed good looking breed and I would like to set a nicer more defined standard of the line and would like to know is there a book avaideable on geneology or line breeding all help much appreciated,

No I want a more defined standard and perhaps to put some of the ancesters blood back in but i dont want any faults or traits of inbreeding, And my grandfather is still alive living in birmingham and keen for a pup for rats along a local canal, I have a couple of pics on my gallery but unfortunatly the dog in the gallery was nailed by a boyracer threw no fault of his own he was let out for a run but thats life,But I will soon have pics of digs and perhaps a few vids

good line breeding in combination with inbreeding would be f.ex. uncle to nice or nephew, or half brother half sister breedings and then back to the ancestors or dogs that also come from the ancestors lines. linebreeding is in my oppinion the only way to keep getting constant percentage of quality offspring, of course when the individuals themlselfes are first class working dogs and do not have undesirable traits which one can see only at working them.

also in other working dogs and animals linebredding and loose inbreeding is the key, with at one point necessary outcross to another nonrelated bloodline when one notices that the offspring has faults like f.ex. light bones, character faults, infertility etc......search in the net for some of the books about breeding dogs written by scientists not hobby pet-breeders or also contact some racing dog breeders or better of course known working terrier breeders that also use heavy linebreeding and sometimes inbreeding. it is difficult enough in my oppinion to breed good working stuff (no matter what their look is, as long as it is a functional dog and does not bother them at work...as long as they work as they should, in my oppinion they can never be ugly looking) but it becomes lottery when breeding without having a plan just two dogs...because one also wants to lay a base for the future generations of working dogs and if one breeds "just two good workers" it will be always very difficult to fix certain wanted traits in the future worker as f.ex. gameness, intelligence, finding ability etc.
