Litter trays... HELP!

Hi,

A few months ago i bought 3 ferret kits from a friend of mine, they are doing really well and are working ok aswell...

the only problem is they seem to refuse to poop in thier litter tray, they pull it out or just poop around it.

is there anything i can do to stop this happening?

put a brick in front of it so it's too heavy for them to move.

I had the same problem mate I been trying for a month now and iv just given up now lol. Good luck with it anyway

i agree with maria_ferrets,put some of the ferrets crap in the tray.however i start tray training my ferrets with a seed tray with the longest side of the tray cut almost level with the tray bottom,just leave a lip to stop the pee running out.i clean the tray and shavings out every day but until the ferrets use it regular i drop a lumpy bit in the back of the tray.

and put a house brick on 1 side to stop the buggers tipping it over

I just let mine dump in the corner on some deep shavings, shovel in, shovel out, works for me

Same with me. Just clean em out daily now.

Save pratting around, takes longer to clean and wash the trays than it does to sweep out the cage

mine shit in the corner here just cant be arsed fannying around with trays they wont use , same as there snap they dig it out the dish so they dont have a dish now , they just shit in it :laugh:

i have moved the kits into a smaller run & hutch after the shed roof incident and you should see the state of it , they have trashed the hutch, the beddings all over tbe place & in the run part , the foods everywhere

 

i can still hear them thundering up & down the pipe they never stop
