MissRhianL 70
My pup of 14 weeks is going through a phase where when you call him he looks at you and then wanders off or he sits there and wont move, some times i have to go to him. Does anyone have or have had this trouble? Sometimes i have the same trouble gettin him in the car hes 50 / 50. He'l either jump into the car straight away or he wil stop and sit down a few yards from the car and you have to go to him and get him. Just need some advice on this please if anyone can help

blacktabs 3
Not the esiest to train but clever dogs never the less. Try using food rewards for the times when he not come sounds like hes a bit unsure as the lads has said you cant get upset with a saluki type start panicking or getting mad and the dog will pick up on it so keep calm and offer a bit of his favorite food to encourage him to come when hes having a moment ATB
Sully 3
my bitch is 14 Wks today and she 's exactly the same, dont panick, as far as I know it's all part of a puppy being a puppy, like another post said offer a food reward, sommatt he / she really likes, kneel down, and tell her "come" or "here" what ever you say you must carry on using it, the dog then gets acustomed to hearing the specific word and will know what todo, obviously make a big fuss when pup does as it's told... never call it to you for for a telling off or a slap, it'll send bad messages to the pooch and try not to loose your temper, the dog ll sense it, as Ive said this is only what Ive read, im in the same boat as you, good luck and keep the faith ATVB Craig
jac 12
I have found that if you keep the pup on a long lead for a week or two and call him often using the lead to bring him to you as soon as you say come ,will work fine . Also try the hide and seek game, take him to a safe place and as soon as he's not looking at you, hide. Let him worry a bit, then reappear and say nothing to him as though nothing has happened. If you do this a lot, he will start to keep an eye on you, in case you disappear . Always looking over his shoulder to make shore you are still there. Helps to stop a pup running off.
