Is a Wheaten a good alternative to bull?

I've ran bulls and wheaten crosses and I found them both wonderful dogs. In my experience the bulls matured earlier whereas the wheatens, whilst a bit slower to mature, took a bit to switch on and once they did.....hold on! The wheaten cross was a loving, loyal bitch who wanted nothing more than to please me but she did have issues if dogs showed her aggression. She never started a fight, ever. Finished a few though. Very versatile when it came to the gun and was soft mouthed when she needed to be (on birds) and a demon on anything else. Shit coat though but it didn't seem to bother her. I don't see why you have to be for or against one or the other. Both can do a job for you. Both very intelligent, biddable crosses.
