mattydski 560
If you have a moderator on, take it off, and try to get a group again. If you haven't got a moderator, check the crown on the end of the barrel for damage. Check that all the metal work and woodwork is tight together..ie...not come loose. Including scope and mounts. Is it a floating barrel on the 10/22? If it is a floating barrel, make sure that it is not obstructed on the stock. Is it a new box of ammo? If it is, try another box. Check the scope cross hairs are not moving when you tap the scope, ie scope is 'fubared' That should get you started! Matty Quote Link to post

Matty thanks, i did the mod bit, off & then on again, no differnece, checked mounts but not wood work, will have a look at that, i think the barrel is bedded had 2 boxes of ammo with me, so it want a dodgy box, unless it was the entire batch! the cross hairs dont move atall when tapped thanks again Quote Link to post

cyclonebri1 8
Also try a diffent brand of ammo, I've has a 1000 batch of duff winchester subs before. Have you given the bore a good scrub? Take a shot, wind the scope up ten clicks then down ten clicks, shoot again and see if it returns correctly. Or maybe you should have gone to specsavers ? Quote Link to post
the Verminator 0
thanks for the replies all, will give some of that ago. specsavers! lol Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
I'd say a lot of good advice so far, in simple terms make sure everything is tight and everything is clean, check particularly the crown for dirt/corrossion/damage Quote Link to post

Piss taking apart, you might have an iffy batch of ammo. Have you tried shooting a few different brands? Ric Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
Setting all seriousness aside for a moment we could say..it's a 10-22 Quote Link to post
cyclonebri1 8
Setting all seriousness aside for a moment we could say..it's a 10-22 Should bought a 77/22 Deker s tongue in cheek reply in mind, we should asume the rifle was accurate before? so we must be pretty close ? Or it could just be a crap 10/22 Edited August 1, 2009 by cyclonebri1 Quote Link to post
jamie g 17
check the crown on it. have you cleaned the barrel since you have used it. you dont need to clean 22lr that much but if its had a lot of rounds there is a starting point Quote Link to post
the Verminator 0
hi, have tried eley subs in it as well a while ago, accurate but didnt kill well i didnt think? yes the gun was accurate before, i regulay shot between 1/2 & 3/4 inch groups at 75 yards in field conditions (because i dont shoot at ranges) and its not just a 10/22 its a rimfire magic custom job! lol its awsome! depending on what i am doing 2 morow i will go and have a play and try most of the things mentioned on here. thanks again all Quote Link to post
Jaggsy 25
Also worth trying is to mount another scope (if you have one) i know a chap who had a similar problem, tried absolutely everything then shoved on an old Tasco he had hanging around and was back to normal.. (his Swaro was out of allignment) Martin Quote Link to post
