von 0
Hey VON, thats a cracker of a beast.Did you know he was on your ground????I always have slight feelings of guilt when the time comes to take out a buck that ive been watching for some months or even years, but we should all treat ourselves to a trophy now and again do you concider him as a good or average buck for your area??? Have you had much succes with the call before??? rgds 6 No never knew he was on the ground, the ground that neighbours me is not managed so i suspect that the doe has pulled him from their. He is really good buck for the area and yes i have been quite lucky with "Buttolo" seem to pull something each year i have tried, out this morning and called a doe and two kids' within twenty feet of me. Exiting stuff never had a gun just observing what was happening on the peice of groung i was on. Cheers Von Quote Link to post

As for the rut i have just seen first signs of it saturday night when i found this young buck with two young does & he mounted 1 of them twice. I have to shoot them as they come in on this farm & i genrally get young over spill but have had crackes too. This is my 4th of this year on this farm & i know of the young does that came in on may. I saw signs of the rut last year in the same field on the 20th of july 08 & shot a cracker. Here is a couple pics of my young buck i got 32m neck shot 28lb clean. & the buck i got last year on the 20th which was rutting. Quote Link to post

midnight sun 0
Went out this morning after friend phoned me yesterday saying possible that rut has started up here in Scotland, went to a new piece of ground and got in position on edge of grass field gave one " Peep" on Butolo and to my left a Doe come's running out of barley field with Buck in hot pursuit, both jumped fence and into the field i was positioned, the doe must have laid up her young in the wood to the right of the field, she was on a mission! Buck stopped nice broadside shot into the engine room aprox 90 yards. It was not until i approached the Buck that i observed how good a beast he was. What a morning, will be out tomorow to try again!!!! great looking beast good head always makes your heart beat faster when you see a quality animal well done Quote Link to post
