stealthy1 3,964
Yo folks, went for a splash around this evening to see if there was any living creature a daft as I was to be out in the rain Out in the feilds there was very little around, and I wasn't surprised, it hasn't stopped raining for the last two days here, hope you lot are a little luckier and dryer, well this is how it went, set off in the hope the rain would blow over, but it p**sed down, got there and it p**sed down, got set up and it p**sed down, plan B was to head for a small woodland that borders this permission, got there and stood under an evergreen spurce, I was just about to bail out of the session when I heard some thing scurry under a bush about twenty feet in front of me, game on! Got down on one knee to see if it had stopped to have a look at me, and it had, a bunny in that classic about to do one pose, so as slow as I could I raised the gun, slow pull of the trigger, whack! and one to take home, it was one of those days when you think your going home empty handed, so I was chuffed Dont know if any of you get the feeling that your being watched, well this time I could see who was watching, it was the brother of the bunnie I had just shot, same pose as the other, so same tactics, slowly raise the gun, and whack! And the second bunnies cuddling up to his brother in the bag Looking around I could see that there was a lot of activity in the area, bits of digging, and chewed saplings, so I decided to stay put for a while, which turned out to be a good call, because bunny number three hopped on the scene, dont know where they were all heading, but I knew where they were going if I had my way So, cross hairs on, trigger pulled, and whack! C'mon number three The rain had stopped, so a walk along the pasture was in order, I could see signs that the bunnies would come out onto the pasture, but not until I had gone home A russle in the long grass and I was poised! then the heavens opened, sheet rain, the stuff that makes every thing run for cover, but not me, a small bunny had hopped out in front of me, I could only just make it out throught the heavy rain, so I took my shot, Fissssssss the pellet carved its way through the rain, I could see a fine spray through the sights as the pellet smashed it way through the rain drops as it made its way to the unsuspecting bunny, whack! and the bunny span once and dropped into the grass, I've never seen spray like that before, but then again, I dont make a habbit of shooting in monsoons Went to find the rabbit, took ten minutes, it looked bigger in the rain, but it was only a scurry, but anyway, wound up with four, not bad for the conditions I suppose, off to dry my gear now Keep at them folks stealthy. 1 Quote Link to post

Guest Scuba1
You must have hit the one in the left of that picture in the swim bladder as it looks a bit deflated. Nice shooting though. Its a brave man to fight the rodents against the current. ATB Michael Quote Link to post

Guest Scuba1
Just be careful when you go out when the ground gets soft or that HW may drag you down. It must be a bit like walking through a swamp with an anvil strapped to your back. ATB Michael Quote Link to post
