After talking to a few guy's on THL and at various shows , dog hydo-therapy has arose a few times , so after doing a bit of research Keano and myself found a pool local to ourselfs . Superb , I was a bit sceptical at first as my vet says that for every minute to a minute and a half . It is the same as walking for a brisk mile , so to say the least I wanted to see this with my own eyes , well i know swimming is great excercise but i never realy realised actually how much work the dog puts in , well in saying that I would say its because they werent used to it , splashing ,panting this was halariouse but in the same time great excercise . Keano has photos which he should hopefully post.

I take it the more they are at it the better they will get , there where dogs there that could swim for scotland from staffys , greyhounds to ridge backs

I think i'v found my new dog treat :clapper:

Heard it all now...whatever happend to taking your dog out for a walk....I'm surprised your dog never had a heart attack.....get it a fishing rod and maybe it'll catch you a trout ;) ....be a treadmill next and you wont have to go out the door :o ....when was the last time that dog of yours seen a rabbit????

Aye its a good addition to the training regime or recovering from injury not an excuse for not taking your dog out ;) its all very well doing the cardio stuff but that needs to be supplemented with hard exercise to buid up the muscle. :icon_redface:
