welshboy454 3
Not in any of this category but probably the biggest consecutive flukes ever. As a kid with a 177 air rifle I shot at a crow about 50 yards away guessing how high above to shoot. Puck I heard it hit and it flew up the field to about 120 yards. Being a kid another go guessing the trajectory it was way way above the crow - result stone dead - I could not believe it but its true. Quote Link to post

cyclonebri1 8
Ive dropped various with long shots but dont take a tape measure out.Im not knocking anyone but how do you know for sure how far your shot was? I don't think anyone will take a measure out but quite easy to pace out, I'm sure we all know our own and can calculate from that. Also Many scopes are rangefinder, all mine are, and many carry a separate rangfinder Quote Link to post

As a general rule 1 pace is a yard and 1 stride is roughly a metre! I am assuming most people walk to collect or inspect their shot/quarry! Quote Link to post
masmiffy 82
i cant claim huge shots but there is a fella round my way who kills foxes at 700 yards (witnessed) whats your longest shot ? atb witnessed shot of 720 yds (paces) on a hare 3 'sighters' then the kill shot! Foxes for sure at over 500yds [22-250 - 22-4000] Quote Link to post
theinvisiblescarecrow 0
113yd magpie. Hit the branch perfect, .22 eley subs. I knew the distance, just forgot to raise the aim two dots. First kill with the HMR was 120/130 yds on sticks, long grass so couldn't use the bipod. A foxer passed his sticks, wobbling all over the place I aimed for the chest. Noticing a fast wobble followed by a slow wobble repeating so I just timed the shot. No sign of entry or exit with 17gn Hornady, used for Fox bait later. 70yd crow with a shotty, flapping passed me after I'd bored myself for hours waiting for pigeon. What the hell I'm bored. Bang. One pellet in the head, stone dead before the wings folded. We all have our memories, It's not so much the distance, but distance adds to why some shots are remembered. Quote Link to post
