In the winter when it is freezing should i still use shreaded paper for my ferrets beddings? or what else becuase i have been told that hay and starw holds mites and things like that

I have always used straw inside there sleeping compartments or boxes.

With wood savings in the light compartments, and the only thing I do is sprinkle some louse powder every time I clean out there beds and never had any problems at all.

I do the same in the corner where they shit and this time of year seems to discourage the flies as well.

And as far as the weather goes it’s meant to be getting even hotter next month according to the papers!!!

B)

Why would you not use paper shredding in winter?

cant go wrong with shredded paper. it doesnt jam in your hinges, has very little dust, and can usually be obtain for free from most offices. or even get a shreder for a tenner in b and q. sorted
