first of all i would like to take this chance to thank you for taking the time to read my letter. I am writing to enquire whether there is any opportunity for pest control by shooting with airgun on your land free of charge.

 

My name is ...............; i am .... years old, i live ..............., i have been shooting for .... years now with an airgun and i enjoy it very much, along with the added bonus of helping the farmer/ landowner by controlling pests such as rooks, crows, rabbits, rats, squirrels, e.t.c which cause a danger to human or animal health or for crop protection which costs farmers in the country millions of pounds every year through pest destroying crops and spreading desease through droppings contaminating food stuffs and animal feeds. Any edible pests(rabbit, pigeons, squirrels e.t.c) will be offered to the landowner at their request.

 

With this in mind i feel that i can be of assistance to you, should you offer me permission to shoot for pests on your land.

If you grant me permission to shot on your land i would respectfully ask that it be in written from (this will help me should i be challenged as to why i am on your land.) - Please could you fill in and return the attached permission form, i enclose a stamped, addressed envelope for this purpose.

 

All livestock, property,borders and bounderies will be respected. I can also be your "eyes and ears" when i am on your land- i can keep watch for anyone flytipping of rubbish or people tresspassing on your land and i will imform you directly of any occurances. i have a serious outlook and respect when using airrifles and i believe the following points illustrate this well-

- I never take chances when shooting- safety of others and myself is always of the upmost importance to me, which is why i will undertake to arrange with you in advance when and where i can shoot.

 

- I always respect the wishes of the landowner and obey any rules or restrictions he/she may lay down.

 

- I am a current member of BASC ( British Association for Shooting and Conservation.) and carry my membership card with me when i go out on a shoot, I can show it to you if required. i will always carry a copy of the enclosed permission form containing details you may provide if you grant me permission to shoot on your land.
