Thanks oldblueeye. bit more pricey than nylon but worth every penny mate. can knit you any colour and size you want. i got 5x4ft and 5x3ft 6" yellow with red drawstrings. made to order and he does them in no time mate. i will be placing an order with him for another 20 just before the start of the season. max abell 196
polyester for me but still have quite a few 10z nylon ones as well they are quite good but poly is better Quote Link to post
waidmann 105
i've been making nets from polylinen(good to knot) have been told it wont rot as hemp will if left wet. its cheaper than hemp ( around 9 pound a reel from bridport nets.tel. 01308 420927. he will send it out on the same day, has rings and all sorts) at the end of the day alot of the lads i know will only use hemp nets and anything else is crap. i'll agree it may be a pleasure to use the nets but price and functionality have to come in to it. The one 8,483
I used to use 300 hemp nets and change them round as i dried them now i made 50 bright red spun nylon nets and there okay you can see them much easier and weve never lost one yet Quote Link to post
longnetter 32
Fashions in purse nets come and go... afew years ago if you suggested using bright yellow nets you would have been laughed at...now they're all the rage. But this spun poly is definitely nice stuff to use and to tie with . I'm an old fashioned fart so I still make and use my hemp nets and plenty of people still buy hemp nets from me Quote Link to post

wiskers 0
hemp nets are fine as long as you dont let them get wet. Quote Link to post
