pups aggression

Recommended Posts

took the dogs for a walk and a swin yesterday late afternoon and give them the excercize they need but my pup of seven months old started fighting with my five year old terrier which is a very game dog at first i thought that it was a little tiff between them and thought nothing of it but they started again and i had a job seperateing them but got them apart anyway the terrier just carried on as usual but then my beddyxwhippet pup ran at my bitch again and started to try and pull her head off ,this pup has never had any aggression towards my terrier since i brought it home six months ago but yesterday it was a full on attack that shocked me i had to prise the pups jaw open to make it let go i put them both on a lead for a while then they were going about as if it had never happened ive never owned a beddyxwhippet before and a mate of mine said they are very game dogs do you think that this could be a problem as they sleep in the same room i dont want to get up of a morning to find two half dead dogs or do you think its a dominence thing with the pup getting older.i no one thing if that was a young fox it would of been a goner thats for sure i had to clean the terrier up her ears were pissing with blood,i take these out regular and they work great together about an hour before this they put up four rabbits crossing the field to get to the beach sorry for going on a bit alb martync

i have always known that when they do fight, DO NOT split them up and keep them apart as this emphasises any problem they do have. keep the dogs together while you are there, do it straight away. do not show either of them affection. just get the point across that they have to be together like it or not. stern corrections e.t.c split them up on a night and when you think they are ready to go back together all the time then do it.
