No Mate, thats just a "horn"...totally harmless....

I'm really proud of this one as it is the first of the species i have ever bred from scratch.

Maybe we will see him again next may when he should wake up and start getting all randy again.....lol...JD

Not sure which is bigger but these breed on an annual basis down in Wales in the garden. (Elephant Hawk Moth).

Hi, the privet is bigger. I also bred many elephant hawk cats too. But the privets are the champs!!!

There are others bigger, but do not breed on a regular basis. ;)

happy days JD

bet that thing eats more than my terrier lol

seriously though how do you go about breeding and keeping something like that?

Well.....you need a mummy privet moth...and a daddy privet moth.

daddy and mummy play rudies when mummy lets off her own special sexy perfume. :icon_redface:

they she lays eggs and thet hatch a week later. They grow like buggery and moult a few times and thenn when Junior has eaten enough he stops eating, has a big sloppy number2 and then descends to bury himself in the soil where he will sit until next june when he can start all over again...... :)

Obviously, its not that simple.....regards JD
