good guns for the money

some of the older 3.5" did not like light loads, and when you load let the chamber slide snap back by itself ie dont hold the release button ease it forward as it needs the little knock.

mine stove piped once in 1.5 years ;) with a light clay cartridge

keep it clean use normal loads and you should be fine

ps mine shot slightly low

My first gun was a Hatsan Escort. Had a few problems with the quality of finish of woodwork and ended up getting a synthetic one. Worked fine, but i've heard of folk having problems.

Like anything, most are OK, but sometimes you get a duffer. 3 Year warranty, though.

EDIT:

And here is the page for accessories:

Biggest heap of **** going and dangerous...I bought a brand new one for my lad less than a year ago, the Barrel blew up after about 30-35 cartridges, the replacement barrel did not fit and then a totally new replacement gun had various problems...returned for a full refund...NEVER again and Edgar Bros are scared stiff of telling you they are mass produced with inferior metal and very bad tolerances!

The proof house test in this country is a joke as far as these are concerned...one slightly over pressure cartridge, if it survives it gets a proof mark, a complete waste of time!

Am I bitter and twisted over the Hatsan....YES...it could have easily killed me as I was next to my lad when the barrel decided to let go...do Edgar Bros care NO!

just what he needs to hear  on his first gun

i have never heard of this before what carts were you using, but due to the amount of them being used safely and happily in the uk i doubt this is usual

what was wrong with the replacment :hmm:

thanks alot guys for all your replies, sorry no been on sooner, but my license arrived on friday so been out every night blasting box after box of cartridges, i really find it a good gun, shoulders well, and cycles every time( so far)

need to get to grips with different types of cartridges though, im using .6 and .4, and i cant make much of the.4 at all, well apart from shooting a rabbit at 55 yards with them. well impressed with that, never actually thought you could get that range with shottys.

bit concerned with the comment about these guns blowing up, a bit wary of using it now.

you should not really shoot at rabbits past 40 yards, you were lucky with that one but you cant guarantee constant kills at that range

as i said guns blowing up are rare these days unless its human error, mud in barrel ect, dont worry about it

Chap, I can but assume you have a vested interest in Edgar Bros or Hatsan or both, don't talk bull about carts or dirt in the barrel, the gun is a heap of junk.

I have been using shotguns for more years than I care to remember and know what I am doing, do you think they would have replaced them if it was MY fault!! Edgar Bros and the dealer acknowledged the barrel let go, several other people also contacted me when this happened, search back in THL, the problem is Egar Bros have refused to let me see further proof tests they said they would have done on the remains of the gun...I wonder why???

Second barrel did NOT fit the action, despite Edgar Bros saying they were all interchangeable...Bull***t, perhaps in a quality gun but tolerances in these are terrible!

The next whole replacement gun was so loose I thought it was a tart...returned and a FULL refund recieved!

This is NOT a one off and someone WILL die with one of these in their hands...it is a result of poor workmanship tolerances and materials.

I am very well aware that no marque is perfect and even the highest quality guns have their problems from time to time, but not as frequently as these....spend the £300 odd quid on a second hand better gun!
