Anyone read ' Foxing With Lamp @& Rifle' ?

Just before I shell out £30 for this book I thought I would ask for a few opinions on whether it is worth the money?

I borrowed it off a mate and it is a good read, a lot of the content is going over old ground if you've done a bit but if you're pretty new to lamping with centrefires i'd highly recommend it. Everyone will learn something from it, no matter how long you've been lamping. If I remember rightly the bloke who wrote it put some videos on youtube, his name is robert bucknell so a search on there might be worthwhile before you shell out on the book to see what you think about his methods. I don't think all his methods are perfect but then again no-one's are. He certainly shoots a lot of foxes so his methods work for him.

Never had the chance to read it, never seen it for sale.

 

It comes highly recommended though. I might scout around for a copy. I've watched his videos on YouTube and he seems to know his stuff and does indeed shoot an awful lot of Foxes. Uses a Bolt Action AR-15 in .223 as his main weapon, I think he said its on its third barrel

 

There was an article of his in one of the magazines about 18 months back on the different Fox calibres from .17HMR to .243, interesting.

 

Though, all of the other Articles of his i've read are a transcription of his videos.

Buy it, it's a good read. If you don't like it I'm sure you could sell it on again for a good price

He's a good old boy, doesn't take any prisoners and knows a bit, simple fact is there is a bit to be learnt here by some, but anyone who has grown up fox shooting will learn little. He has his views and favoured tools and does well, credit to him but don't expect to be amazed by any startling revelations

I've read it, as has been said before, nothing ground breaking but a good read none the less. The you tube vids are worth a look as well

Dave he is a plonker, have a look on youtube at some of his rifle handling, waving his loaded rifle throwing it over his shoulder, i questioned him regarding this, and his reply was he knew it was safe as only him and the camera man were around.....Pointed out to him that others looking at his gun handling methods would think that this was okay to do so as he was doing it in his video on how to shoot with a rifle, and that he was endorsed with a well known gun magazine....

He then declined to talk any further on the subject, even removed my question from his youtube comments page so no one else could see my remarks regarding his stupidity shown on the video.
