Guest wickidweasel
I used to have mine coming to call but now Ive got a dog Quote Link to post
bullmastiff 615
Used to do that when I kept ferrets, it works quite well until their down a hole and can't hear you whistling, or probably they just ignore it when on a rabbit. mainly used it when letting them out for walks around the fields looking for mouse nests. keeps them (and you) entertained when you can't use em on rabbits. not a lot better than watching a couple of ferrets play in a long grass together. :11: Quote Link to post

Guest ferreting king
last winter when i was out ferreting there was a small mound with holes both ends and all overgrown nettles and ferns and i tried calling the ferret out it because i saw it on the top in the ferns and i completly ignored me Quote Link to post
Guest RobW71
Sounds about right FK I can't bide hole shy Ferrets, then give them plenty of time to work, they'll usually mooch on out and head off in a differant direction Like said, at the moment the Kits all come to me, how long it'll last??? My Hob will get back in the box when he comes out. Regards Rob Quote Link to post
The Ferret Tamer 1
I use a bunch of keys when I feed, same as whistling really, get the kits use to it and you will have no problems when out ferreting (you always have keys in your pocket). FT Quote Link to post
Guest RobW71
What do you feed yours FT? it doesn't work like that with mine, they're qued up at the door as soon as they hear the latch open, belly fulls or not. Regards Rob Quote Link to post

Guest RobW71
I've just came back from taking the dogs out, there was one kit out in the court chewing on last nights spine all the others were curled up asleep in the shed, I only opened the door and said "morning Mr Fuffles" (the kids named him) and got rushed by seven ferrets It deff'ly helps to talk to them and like someone already said, it's good the kids are home to really fuss over them.
