Tiggypud 0
I have read some really interesting tips on getting a ferret off whatever bit its attatched to, so I thought I would add a couple of my methods which have been tried and tested with great success. If at home and a ferret latches on we use lemon juice (I can hear you all laughing now) just a quick squirt into the mouth from one of those jif lemon things works a treat they think you taste bad, they also think twice about bitting you again. If out working or at a show (which has happened), you always carry a set of keys in your pocket well slide one of the keys into the side of its mouth and turn the key as if opening a lock, it works ferrets dont seem to like the taste of metal. This happened at the manor show a few years ago 2 ferrets latched on to each other, biting the tail, tapping it on the forehead, sqeezing its foot, blowing up its nose these were all tried and we didnt have a bucket of water, the only thing that worked, the keys. jamesh1822 0
Some good ideas I do hope that this will never happen I hope that as most people have commented the more you handle them the better they should become but at least I will be a little bit more prepared if one does decide to latch on to see what I taste like. thanks every one for there great comments .
