Theoben M.F.R. ftlbs

Recommended Posts

Question to m.f.r. owners; Mine is standard factory F.A.C. and when checked with chrony clocked 22ftlbs is this the norm? Can anyone reccomend a specialist to tweak it up or should i leave good enough alone? a.t.b.lads.

Sounds like the Wrong pellets - what are you using ?

Break Actions prefer lighter - even Gas Ram's

Aware logun Penetrator / Exterminator - can give good results - would also effect power outcome

Or Even Defiant 14.00's - Light and can take the power ;)

Your Rapid MFR should run @ 27ftlbs factory set in .22, if you have the .20 @ 24ftlbs factory set, .177 @ 19.8ftlbs & .25 @ 28.5ftlbs, depending on your choice of pellet & the power curve on your fill pressure plus ambient air temp you can + or - 2ftlbs. Without seeing the rifle the main cause for loss of power is weak hammer strike on the main valve, or port obstruction, find a good Gunsmith as your MFR will run happily at +30ftlbs on heavy pellets like Dae Sung @ 28 grain or Eley Magnum @ 30 grain, they are very easy to adjust power up or down on Theobens.

Hi donny. I can see you are a fan of the Theoben brand, not all regs work to point of no deviation & after lots of fills they can let you down just like HW100s regs when they foul up due to contamination, the Theoben's not a bad bit of kit & it's still built in Britain, I think the FAC system works well regulated or not, if well looked after & clean air used.
