sky 8 Posted July 21, 2009 Report Share Posted July 21, 2009 my lurcher has an old puncture wound which has re-opened and has some dead skin that needs to be got rid of, she wont let me near it, so what can i use to anethatize it so she will let me near her to cut the dead skin away? sandymere 8,263 Posted July 21, 2009 Report Share Posted July 21, 2009 The reason it opened was most likely down to infection trapped in the wound when it healed on the surface, if there is ongoing infection then a trip to the vets for antibiotics and cleaning the wound may be in order. Dont like going to vets, they are a rip off, rather do it myself. i have cleaned it up, put intresite gel in wound, will get butterfly stitches from chemist, just need to get the dead skin out.
