shepp 2,285
did she go to ground like mate and did u take her lampin No allrounder she was a too big to go to ground, slightly shorter than a whippet, probably the same weight and deep in the chest. I used her for bushing and ratting, i never let her on a fox but i don't think she would have backed down because she never backed down to any dog whatever it's size. Bit of a scrapper when she was pushed but good with people especially kids. I always used my other dog for lamping. Quote Link to post

Guest rabbiter
This split littler thing happened to a guy that lives over from me ...he had a pure Beagle bitch who came in heat ,when his wife ,who never knew ,let a very old (14) black collie out and they mated ....he rang and asked what would happen if he took her to a beagle right away ? give it a go I replyed..off he went and after the pups were born ...3 were black and long haired ,just like the collie and 3 were marked just like a beagle ...I have two of the beagles ones ,who are now over two years old and are just beagles ,but I have never seen any of the collie type ones .I think this happen because the collie was so old that his sperm count would have been so low that 3 eggs weren't fertilised untill the mateing with the pure beagle dog.
