johnnyboy28 1
I mated my KC bitch Whippet with a RCH whippet (Bigland Boy ) on her 12th and 14th day. Then my dog Border Terrier got at her on her 20th day (which i thought would be safe) Anyway last Thursday the Whippet had 6 whippet pups (1 died) and 1 Border x whippet the 6 that are remaining are nice strong pups with the 5 whippets looking just like the sire and the Border cross looking like its Sire. Being a novice in breeding dogs i was unaware there could be multiple fathers and i did not know it was still possible on the 20th day.the border cross is as big as the other pups even though it was conceived 6 days after and born the same day. I am learning something new everyday. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this??? Quote Link to post

Cupid Stunt 18
Its posible everytime two dogs jump a bitch in season she can produce pups from both sires in the one litter. I don't know the specifics but i'm sure if you 'googled' the question you would get some answers Quote Link to post
Ray Mears 272
i just dont think it is possible 2 have 2 sires in the same litter. so if you have a whippet and breed it with another whippet thn let a greyhound have a go aswell you are going to end up with 1 whippet x greyhound and the rest whippets Quote Link to post
Guest Cal
It is possible for a bitch to concieve to more than one dog and have a split litter. Quote Link to post
Cupid Stunt 18
You believe what you think thats fine with me thats all it is though what YOU think You can look it up & find papers & stats by qualified vets etc. but if you want to stick your heads in the sand & not listen then carry on Quote Link to post
Stabs 3
You tell them Cupid :11: Quote Link to post
bullmastiff 615
It shouldn't be possible, it's only ever 1 egg and one sperm cell that join to become a stem cell, then once fertilized that egg will then grow then split, you now have twins, if they grow then split then you have quads etc etc that why litter sizes vary so much, it just depends how many times each cell splits before it grows. That said I suppose you could get a second egg I've forgotten the name of it (that is released from the ovary by mistake) thus giving you your second litter??? but that has got to be a very rare thing? Guest chilli
Dogs are different to humans plenty of eggs get released at one time if they all dont get fertilised and another dogs gets on quick enough it can happen , Someone on the old smoochers had it iirc . Quote Link to post

Listen to the older folk on here and you will gather important knowledge and some that aint worth anything but by listening to the more experienced is how we all learn and as i explained in my 1st post on this subject we never stop learning Quote Link to post
