l2a2mlam 0
if they were the ones used in the labs to help produce the vaccine then yes they will be immune now :piggy: :piggy: Quote Link to post
Guest shadowz
yes ferrets can catch swine flu. they were used in tests into the vaccine. If you think u have it its best to not handle them and use mask when around them. Just keep interaction to a minimum ( eg change water/food/litter ) and use basic good hygiene ( washing hands often and so on ) Quote Link to post
fireman 11,038
Swine flu is in Norfolk already mate and as for wearing masks it makes it easier to catch as the masks get damp from your breath so they catch the germs easier. Quote Link to post
dj.chapman 0
i think the mask was to prevent the ferrets getting it mate. anyone else got anything else to add to this thread, has anyones ferrets come down with it ? Quote Link to post
sue 1
only cat flu and thats bad ,lost a couple to it even though they were on antibiotics,so I have my fingers crossed Quote Link to post
Coneytrappr 30
Yes they can catch it. If you think you have it just take the same caution you would if you had any other flu, don't excessively handle etc. http://scienceblogs.com/notrocketscience/2...more_severe.php Quote Link to post
droid 11
Ferrets can catch human transmissible flu. They can't catch human colds, but can catch ferret colds. Quote Link to post
