Guest Ditch_Shitter
Fasinating! I too have an 'Older' bitch here; And she's a bugger for licking fabrics! Most especially, she licks the area of my bed beside where my head lays. So that kinda precludes any ideas about getting anything from me, I guess? Sometimes though, she'll lick a seemingly random spot and lick it till it's pretty well soaked through. Most often seems to do this later at night. Done it for as long as I can remember and will often kick off just as soon as we go to bed. (Yes; She sleeps in with me). Interestingly, I have a Dog of about the same age. He likes to lick the soles of my feet before he settles down. But lots of Dogs are inveterate foot lickers. Most bugging of all though ~ and it'd be great if anyone drawn into this discussion could nail this one for me? ~ is that he " Cleans his teeth ", as I call it. Usually in the mornings. Later in the day too though, when the feeling takes him. He'll make a rapid 'nipping' motion at my quilt cover. Never actually marks the fabric. Though he does tend to leave a little wet patch there. Really seems to concentrate on what he's doing and is very absorbed in it. Definatley means something important to him. Doesn't bother me in the least. But I'd die a happier man if I could only work out what the hell he's up to! Intriguing behaviour which I've never before noted in a Dog in all my life. He's a Bull 'n Terrier, by the way. Any takers? Hey, Byron? At least now you know you're not alone, mate!

OEH 0
My white bitch licks the sofa and armchair too leaving huge wet patches too. Like ditch shitter's dog she does it in the evenings mainly too. I find it really irritating but it seems to make her happy.
Guest Ditch_Shitter
Front small teeth? Grooming. You have it in one, Moll! So that's what he's up to, eh? Wonder why he takes it out on mu quilt cover? Probably, when all's said and done, like the licky bitches; A comfort thing?
