Too right. I read about a guy who killed his 14 year old nephew. Out lamping, picked up the lad's eyes, 22lr at close range. If in doubt don't. Ric Quote Link to post

As I recall - it was quite a while ago - two guys and the son of one of them were out lamping, and there was some kind of mix-up, to put it mildly. The coroner brought in accidental death. My point is, of course, the same as Snap's. Make very sure before you squeeze the trigger cos it's too bloody late afterwards if you're wrong. Ric Quote Link to post

gossy 3
sometimes when there along way out and you cant see the outline of their body you just see the eyes shoot up about 4 feet. so it pays to keep alert and watch out for this easy mistake to make though and as said you should always be sure. SportingShooter 0
Happens quite a lot. You catch a pair of eyes in the lamp and think to yourself "Now is that a Fox or not" so you sit there and hold the scope on the area to see if you can get an ID. More often than not around here, its either a Sheep which is doing a good impression of a Fox's yellow eyes or a Cow doing the same Quote Link to post
FOXHUNTER 5,021
Ive seen it quite a few times . Always remember to ID your quarry first and if in doubt dont shoot. I have seen roe lying completely flat in stubble with their head on the ground .... Quote Link to post
