What's the best gun for someone who has never used one?. Needs to be cheep and able to kill rabbits , and are air pistols any good ? I was thinking of a B2 air rifle.

2nd Hand break barrel. Go for something like a BSA Meteor. Simple!

if [bANNED TEXT] gna get a B2, you might as well grind the barrell to a point and use it as a spear.

You should be able to pick your self up a cheap springer on the for sales forum on there or bbs. Try to stay with the big makes or read reviews.

Iv just been using my cousins new gun to day its a BSA comet .177 Its accurate synthetic stock not really heavy and It cost £90!!!!!

We were easily nocking cans over with the fiber optic sights once we got bored and zeroed the scopes in we went to the wood (Right next to his house) and got two woodys!!

so its A VERY good gun for the money and i can recommend one after using it for a day

or you can be like everyone else and get a second hand HW

you will need a full power ( sub 12ft/lb) rifle

the b2 is only around 8ft/lbs..................a decent s/h bsa, webley or weihrauch will be a good start some of the smk range are a good cheap starting point but, if it is for rabbits you will need it to be full power.

i totally agree, dont go with a meteor as they only put out 6ft/lbs which is just nowhere near enough so get yourself a s/h springer i have a weihrauch but they are heavy so standing shots are tricky at first, any of the big names and that bsa comet sounds a bargain coupled with a jsr own brand scope could be the perfect starter package. but do they do it in .22?

Properly there a newish gun (i think) so not many people would of used them Its balanced well so standing shots are good. fibre optic sights are simple to use and its got very good accuracy hes got a Hawk 4x32 scope on now which keeps the gun light for him

yes i started hunting with 4x32 scopes and i am still a real fan being a fixed magnification they are ultra sharp on the image and really light as well and really good for everything but the longest range shots. i could happily knock shotgun cartridges off sticks at 28-30 yrds with my ratty fixed with 4x32 scope all day
