multiple dogs

I was wondering how many people on here use more than one dog at a dig site. I have noticed that when I have more than one the first keeps digging in and the second pulls dirt back out and cleans the tunnel. When I have only one dog it keeps digging and all the dirt gets left in the tunnel and then when the dog wants to come out it has to dig back out. I'm scared to hunt one dog now cause I don't wan it getting stuck. There is no way they would ever be able to pull something out of a hole cause they can't dig in reverse, unles the original hole was allready big enough for them. But I hunt jagds on fox so they have to do some digging.

 

Anybody else have this kind of experiance? What is everyones thoughts on more than one dog in a hole?

you are only doubling the risk of pretty much everything that an go wrong when working a terrier

Seeing more than 1 dog to ground saddens me, my own work single handed and thats that. But a lot of lads I dig with will double up, ive seen 3 to ground aswell,,,, :sick:

work its quarry and if his quarry starts pussing him he cant go nowere

if you have not got a dog that can do it on its own then pack in the digging game and start something else.

if your terrier is digging on trying to get to his fox why the f**k would he want to turn around and come back out if he done the job right he would be their till he was dug to with the fox. if he gets stuck dig him out.doubleing up dogs is a fools game.their a two diffrent type of digging men the lads that live for terrier work and will test their dogs to the last to know for sure what they have in their kennels.and then theirs the fools that dont give a f**k how many dogs are in as long as they get whats in the hole sadly their are alot of the wrong lads around thats why good dogs are so hard get because you have lads breeding shit of theses doubled up dogs

hello mate about 60% of jagds terriers will be to big for fox work can you get yourself a patterdale jrt border or lakeland then you will find that the dog does not have to dig to much to get to his quarry atb hector
