Guest baldie
Duckwing, that is a truly beautiful knife.Where did you get the bits, especially the curly birch? Looks like a brussletto blade?
DUCKWING 302
HELLO BALDIE , I BOUGHT ALL THE KNIFE PARTS FROM " BRISA " ..... REALLY GOOD SERVICE THE CURLY BIRCH COMES IN DIFFERENT GRADES , I CHOOSE MASTURI , WHICH WAS I BELIVE THE MORE EXPENSIVE .... EVERY TIME I LOOK AT THE WOOD I SEE SOMETHING DIFFERENT ..... ITS MORE LIKE THE PATTERNING OF MARBLE THAN WOOD GRAIN .... IT TOOK SANDING AND THE DANISH OIL FINISH REAL NICE THE MOOSE HORN COIN , WHEN SEEN IN NATURAL LIGHT IS AMAZING IT HAS TINGES OF GREEN RUNNING THROUGH IT THE BLADE IS A LAURI CARBON ........ WHICH I LOVE THE PATINA ON , THE DARKNESS OF THE BLADE INFLUANCED MY CHOICE OF HANDLE MATERIAL IAM ALREADY THINKING OF MATERIALS FOR MY NEXT KNIFE ......... IVE BEEN GIVEN A BLOCK OF " BLACK PALM " FROM A WOOD TURNING MATE , THINKING IT WILL LOOK REAL NICE WITH A STAINLESS STEEL BLADE AND ELK HORN COIN .... I WILL HAVE TO SERCH THROUGH THE SCANDI BLADES FOR A MAKER , THOUGH THE LAMPERMAN IS RECOMMENDING A HELLE BLADE , AS HE HAS A KNIFE FROM THIS MAKER AND IS VERY IMPRESSED ALL THE BEST DUCKWING

bullmastiff 615
They look great mate! those buck knives take some beating, my dad got given one similar to yours about 15 - 20 years and he uses it for anything and everything, still going strong and very rarely needs sharpening, takes a while to get a decent edge but once on it's there for a while!!
