extendible ladders

Recommended Posts

i get a bit fed up sometimes of unlocking and unwinding my ladder clamps on the roof bars plus the extra wind noise. was looking at the extendible type they are expensive so thought i would ask of your thoughts on them if you have used them before.

cheers.

keep your ladders any buy some bungee cords :D

When you leave them on the van of a night, just put one clamp on & padlock it.

:clapper: i dont know if i trust bungee cords when i`m doing 120 mph down the A40 (only joking i`ve got a 2.4 hilux).

trouble is i like to know my ladders are safe when i`m not in sight of my truck there are w###kers out there that will steal the fillings out your teeth.

use a "D" lock then mate :D

Bungee them on then stick a D lock on, easier than fanny'ing on with clamps ;)

Ive carried a 28ft double, and a 20ft double (at the same time) with only one bungee on each, and reached 80mph

are you on about those extending ladders, that raise up out of inside each other, not got them myself, but seen other contractors with them, slightly heavy for my liking, and only went upto around 6ft,

what I do have in the van, are a set of ladders that fold into four, cost around £99 and they are the dogs danglies, once opened fully gives you around 12ft, my missus painted most of the house using them :whistling:

i use them regular and they are good, surprisingly sturdy, abit pricey but i didnt pay for mine...lol. find them to be high enough for most day to day jobs and beats lugging the treble 13s on and of a roof rack all day.

they are currently on offer at killgerm, think they are offering about £40 of the RRP.

I gave her the treble 8 for doing the top half, :whistling: knew there was a good reason for marrying a yorkshire lass

plus she's a great cook, she dont mind the hunting, plus all manner of "dead stuff" I bring home, she can kill, pluck and cook chickens no probs, good in bed too, what more could a guy want :notworthy:

I've just bought a telestep ladder from Killgerm they have an offer on at the moment telesteps are £150 normally around £200 and you get a free bag which they normally sell for about £30, (probably get them cheaper if you shop around)they reach about 3.3 metres which probably is't high enough to reach over house gutters etc but I wanted them for loft access etc.
