donk 12
Some of you young uns are easy beat What you going to do if you join the army,go out on patrol and have contact with the enemy? Say 'f**k this im off'? You'll need to show a bit more bollox than that to fit in with your unit. Still, basic training tends to weed out the lads who cant hack it. All the best in whatever you do bud.
tony d 0
so you must still be living at home with your parents then mate? cause thats the only way you would be able to live on the little money you will get! what about food for your dogs, insurance for them if anything goes wrong etc. a few beer tokens for yourself. i dont think it'll be quite an easy ride that you are expecting mate. tony
poacher3161 1,766
Get yourself down an agency.... get a part-time warehouse job... pays £7.50 an hour minimum, plenty of time left for everything else and you get a few quid into the bargain... if ya can get away with it keep your hours low so you pay very little tax.I left school at 15, went and joined the family business, it went bust at 18 and i was too young to be declared an employee so looked impossible to get a job when people ask 'what u been doin the last 3 years?', i went on the fencing gangs for a year then joined an agency and built up a good repuation, now have a full time warehouse job, been in it 4 1/2 years and very happy, i work 25 hours a week and come home with excess of £750 every 4 weeks, i work the evenings so times just right when i get home for a spot of lamping and i then get all day as well to be with my dogs or do a bit of 'cash' work. Get motivated.... Get a job.... Have money.... Be happy! They must be some good agencys up your way cos these around here just treat people like shit wanting to pay the minimum wage [bANNED TEXT] they get nearly treble that for you. littletimmy 71
Well to be honest.... my time was 10 years ago, i expect things have changed a lot... certainly the depot i work at has a lot of poles and indians working there.... but at end of day they are prepared to do the graft rather than claim benefits. We have a lot of agency staff and most of those are poles, we need 1500 people working at depot i work at and just cant get the people so have to resort to agencys for staff. There are plenty of agencys up here so competition is stiff, Can work at the argos depot, choice of 3 shifts, 6 month contracts(could become permanent) £9 per hour plus benefits, or work at the TNT depot £8.50 an hour, plenty more about now as companys seek to take on temporary staff till things get better finance wise, catering, warehouse, office and retail all well covered. some decent advice there. And i probly will get some part-time work which i will enjoy .. mainly to give me something to do a couple of days a week. Im not completely stupid, i've got money which will keep me going a few months, unfortunite that i didnt work until spetember as i would have had an amount which i had aimed for thus keeping me going plenty. Not a daft lad, i wont let my belly go hungry Edited July 15, 2009 by littletimmy
Rabbithunter 456
cant stand the dole office, i hated it everytime i went in to sign on I was under the impression you cant claim if you have been sacked, or voluntarily resigned
fin and fur 2
Whilst the dole are paying out relativley large somes of money to claimants they are robbing many people of any sense of ambition in their lives. Where is the incentive to get back to work or hold down a job when you can get more money and less hassle from sitting around at home all day and doing what you want. Little Timmy, if you are working in an office full of dicks then guess what ?, thats life, the world is full of dicks. We all work with assholes at some point or other, and i would in no way let them triumph over you, which is what you are doing when you jack in your job. You say that some of your friends can earn £1000 per week, with the risk of a criminal record and ultimatley a jail sentance. well if you get your head down and work then this is the sort of money you could be earning, without the risk of a criminal record or loss of liberty. I appreciate that at a young age your view of the world may be somewhat limited by the small ammount of experience that you have gained so far since leaving school, but if you go down the route of the dole just because its the easy option then you are losing out on so much in life and you will be poorer (in non financial terms) as a result. Have a rethink and see what alternatives life could offer you, you will be richer for it (in real terms that is). all the best fin and fur

pat blewitt 41
Such a wise head on so young shoulders (NOT) Give yourself a shake timmy you must have a bit put by if you can feed dogs and keep yourself in the manner your used to, or are you intending to rely on the good ole bank of mam and dad. The dole wont pay you if you have left your job, and most times they do check with past employers. As for the army, good luck, but if two old women in a nice comfy office are going to make you quit, whats a big hairy arsed sergeant major shouting at you at the crack of dawn going to do to you
littletimmy 71
As for the army, good luck, but if two old women in a nice comfy office are going to make you quit, whats a big hairy arsed sergeant major shouting at you at the crack of dawn going to do to you Two completly different scenarios. Ones a job i'll imagine i'll enjoy for the best part of the time, the other i hated the job itself, as much as the people i worked with. And again one, a big hairy arsed sergant major shouting at ME when something needs doing against the other who is sly about what they do. But you old and that means you've seen it so you must know the answer, as my young, idiotic self struggles to tie a shoe lace without help for ole wise one
