CUBE 0
Help…I have been trying to rid my mother’s garden of magpies as they have managed to decimate the entire small bird / songbird population. I have tried various traps (top opening, side opening, top & side) together with a variety of baits (dogfood, catfood, eggs, offal, golf balls, shiny shit etc) as well as a number of call birds….but all the fuckers do is dance around the trap and on top of the trap but NEVER into the trap….that’s a lie, we had one crow in the trap but my old man let it go cause he thought we were just after the magpies – DON’T ASK!!!! Any further tips please??? :realmad: Quote Link to post
stubby 175
whats the area like?, built up housing estate, or house middle of nowhere tried shooting within your boundaries, although dont think you can use the excuse of them knocking off the small bird population as a reason for culling, it needs to be more public health or livestock being attacked/ Quote Link to post

410phil 4
try making sure one side of the cage is pushed up against something like a wall or a shed that shoud stop em dancing around it and concentrate more on going in it. ALL THE BEST Phil Quote Link to post

JohnGalway 1,043
Maybe if the trap was raised up a bit and some bait, say catfood, put into the catch compartments it might help. It'd stop them dancing around it anyway but not on top of it. Quote Link to post
