josh-waddingham 13
That head shot looks like my mates GosxBlackspar,he was there with us gorgeous bird pal, but im one of many who doesnt see the point in cross breeding true hawks, you either fly one or the other they are totally different to falcons, few say cross breeding imprves of bird which is very true of the falcon family but true hawks i beg to differ as this does not improve, a gos and a spar are two totally different birds many say spars are just smaller versions of goshawks but it doesnt work like that shorely this would just be develope a coopes like bird? i kno the black spar is different to are native ueropean spars, and iv now read threads on tehf alconry forum that theyv started cross breeding harris/gos many say this will improve on both birds as it will have the brains and willing to work with other birds of a harris but the determination and the eager to kill with the heart of a goshawk. but i dont no i just think that it would be ruining a good bird into a good harris hawk, iv always harrises but i love goshawks and wnat to get into flying them in next few years but i dont its just my oppinion sorry if one is affending by my comment Edited July 16, 2009 by waddo93@hotmail.co.uk Quote Link to post

graham01 1
Ive not flown GXBS but will comment on how good they are or arent when ive flown one myself or at least when i see it hunting this season wth my own two eyes, otherwise my opinion would be completely baseless and have no meaning. Alf is the one of most experienced sparviters in the NE and most experienced falconers ,period, i know. The bird is stunning and seeing and getting my hands on it makes me confident that this bird will destroy partirdge and pheasant this year,it is so switched on even compared to a Gos or spar and Alf being exited as he is at the prospect speaks volumes to me,as for price no more expensive as a Finish male,in some breeders cheaper.
