Hi all

Have you been or stay in betws -y- coed in wales as i am going there on the 7th of august to 12th of august.

We are going to hull first to meet my girlfriends brother stay there one night and travelling down to betws -y- coed where we stay in camping site for

a week if any of you are from near there it would be nice to meet you for a chat.

Yes i've been many years ago......i went when, i was ten years old.....but remember it was a beautiful area......there was a small waterfall.....i think it was called swallow falls....... you must give that a visit.........Hope you have a great time..... :thumbs:

have been there also, just as the name "swallow falls" came into my head, read the above post, christ that takes me back, some 32yrs ago, myself, two mates and our photography teacher stayed in a caravan in betws, making a film on birds/birds of prey

It's always struck me as a rather gloomy place, all trees and dark slate.

 

But there's some cracking walks around, and a few years back the pubs weren't bad either. :D

There was a time when that slate covered most of the roofs in the UK. These days it's cheaper to buy Spanish crap, Welsh slate costs a fecking fortune. :(

Very true Mal. :(

 

I've spent a few entertaining days climbing in the slate quarries round Llanberis and Blenau. That must have been an impressive sight when they were all up and running....

It's been 28 years since i went......but the place left a lasting impression on me......but now i'm feeling that's a very long time ago..... :blink:

its been around 30 years for me as well since i was there but i thought it was one of the best places on earth everything you wanted walks scenery,shops and the mountains and slate mines,i would go again anytime.and ive been 3 times now.
