RustyG 0
Hi there me n my mate have just started to get into decoying, we have a fair bit of the kit, nets, poles, deeks etc, we were out towards the end of last year, had a few good 60+ bags using a 12 bore, recently we have been using a silenced .410 3rnd pump, i recon it is more of a squirel gun or rabbit gun tho. Does any one have any tips for deek patterns, and where to put them in relation to flight lines etc Cheers Rusty G Quote Link to post
Denny essex 15
study the field you intend shooting and look for a flightline, taking some time to just watch can have benefits in setting up in the right place,. set your hide up under or a close as you can get to the pigeons flightline ( a flightline if your not sure is the route the birds constantly take on the day across a field to land or pass over). place the decoys faceing into the wind in a V or horseshoe shape, the closest decoy to you 10 to 15 mtrs and the furthest from you 40 mtrs , with the wind at your back if you can is favourable, the decoys approx 2 mtrs apart from one another and maybe a few additional dec's at the head of the pattern if you have enough, dont set them regimental fashion into the wind , angle some slightly, a bouncer or magnet can help too. Alter the pattern if the birds seem to reluctant to coy in. If your already shooting bags of sixty i'd say you have it sussed already Quote Link to post
