I think Ballinlough judging was fair and at least they try to minimise the crufts type judging. firstly dogs and bitches seperate judge should be a digging person or retired should have the experiance of show dogs and workers because they can be both all the judge should be from ireland if dogs come in wrong class put them out if a dog shows aggrision put it out too judge person collecting money shouldnt have say this is my opinion not a slur on anyone This is a fair description of our judges for Birr this year. Albert dont be hijacking this tread albert to promote birr everybody knows shamus influence the judge now piss off Sorry I haven't had time to reply to you. Do you not understand a forum is for everyone to put an opinion so long as it is decent, honest and not like your comment inaccurate and defamatory? Seamus has done more than anyone to popoularise Terrier & Lurcher showing and racing in Ireland. Like him or not he has won more of the main UK shows than virtually anyone in Ireland and certainly killed more foxes than anyone. Your comments are insulting to both Seamus and the judges such as Gary Hosker, Gary Middleton and friends of mine such as Tommy Agnew who I stewarded for at two All Ireland's > Tommy is an international Champonship Judge who did the best job of judging lurchers that I have seen. I judge gundogs at Championship level and would not tolerate any "fixed" judging at our shows. I have dealt with allegations/ criticisms such as this at Birr as I do with all matters "head ON". Firstly on the prizes : Top Terrier gets €50 Top Lurcher gets €50 and the overall Champion gets €100 and a specially engraved Champion's tankard. All class winners get trophies and a year's subscription to Irish Countrysports and Country Life magazine which will in future be carrying more Terrier & Lurcher news. The new editor keeps both terriers & lurchers. There will be other supporting prizes. AND I have repeated the offer of two day tickets for the price of one for terrier & lurcher enthusiasts. If taken up before the 13th August. AND as I have said both judges have an exceptional track record of working & showing their dogs over a long period of time. Seamus will not be stewarding. It would appear that unlike Seamus you do not have a track record to be proud of either working or showing your dogs and prefer to criticise and defame others from the sidelines under an alias. The fact that Seamus runs the two largest shows in Ireland is a very eloquent testimony to the fact that your very biased opinion is not shared by the majority of terrier & lurcher competitors. As for me, I don't take lessons in free speech from people who hide behind aliases. AlbertJ
