mattydski 560
Sorry cant help you with that one, I only freeze birds for my own consumption, which are dressed prior to freezing, and ferrets occasionally get to share.. Matty Quote Link to post
The one 8,483
Thats what i do gut them then wrap them in a poly bag to stop them sticking together then freeze them and take them out the night before i ned them to allow them to defrost Quote Link to post
Coatesy900 0
When its hot like this though you've got to remember that you've got one out of the freezer, because they defrost much faster, and with all the flies about at this time of year its not long before they end up full of maggots. Not pleasant. I have a freezer dedicated to the pupose of ferret food out in the garage, and it has about 8 rabbits and 2 rooks in at the moment. Put each seperate animal into a carrier back before you freeze them or when you need to take one out you will need a hammer to separate them! Fur sticks like a b*tch when frozen. Quote Link to post

Tiercel 6,986
Most animals / birds are better for the ferrets if they have been frozen for a few weeks, as it kills any worms and or parasites that the animal may have. TC Quote Link to post
