jasper65 6
tidy horris.mine was 840g 35 days oldhe was 890g 30 days old and flew last season at 730g,so the 30 day thing never aplied here.not that i am saying its right or wrong oh and he started his gob at 43 days how are you feeding him mate as i never seen food in the pics just intrested. thanks daz I think you're dead right DAZ! when I first started breeding my peregrines I was weighing them every few days, a guy told me that whatever the bird weighs at 30 days is roughly its flying weight! it turns out he was miles out mate... there's alot of differnt things I suppose we all have to take into account, different falconers fly there birds to a condition that they feel the birds hunts best at, some falconers may get a bird flying at a good high weight with alot of fittness and time yet a weekend warrior would probably have to have his bird flying alot less due to its Metabolism and fitness levels being lower.... I think we'll always get these comparisons but at the end of the day we as falconers choose what we think is best for our birds on any given day, Flying weight certainly should never be throught off as static! as you know a birds condition can change through weather and whole lot of other reason... I think after reading through the bollox I just wrote!! what I'm tring to say is the 30 days flying weight is basically a load of cock speak soon mate Jasper Quote Link to post
