first day out with the new gun

Recommended Posts

only posted question on here up until now, so here goes my first proper post.......

had an hour and 45min drive to darlington on friday for my new gun. .22 Falcon fn19 with 8shot, 3-9 x 42 scopes and the falcon moderator. £200 Got a .177 webley nemesis chucked in with the deal aswell. cheers for that toplamper.

anyway, had to go to the gun shop yesterday, got a thimble, some field target trophy pellets and a real tree gun bag as my old one was a bit worse for wear. got the gun charged up and came home to zero it. just about pellet on pellet at around 25yard. GOD ! how much easier to shoot these pcp's are then springers! must have put about 50pellets through it in my giddiness and realised at 5pm that the gun shop had just shut and wouldnt be open today so i had no way of charging it (didnt buy the adaptor so i could use the neighbour styrrup pump!

TWAT !! means ive got roughly 20pellets to play with this morning so no messing about shooting random shit.

we get to our first spot and there must be 15 rabbits running about. decided to take a standing shot at one as i had nowhere to rest and couldnt kneel. MISSED ! BOLLOX !! it was about 2mins before i got another chance. a 3/4 grown with its back to me and head up. got a bit shaky as i aimed but luckily i had moved and now had something to rest on. WHACK !! straight through the back of the skull. 25yards and down goes number one. :D

moved again to get a clear shot on a bigger group of the pests. had a quick look through CRUNCH !! down goes number two. clean as a whistle straight behind the eye. :D thank god i paid that bit extra and went pcp. makes a change to make the right choice!

got myself stretched out on a banking and lined up for bunny number 3. quick check behind to see where the pellet will go if i miss then with a zip i hit rabbit number 3. went over to collect my kills and as i did i seen number 3 spinning underneath a fence and into some brambles. you win some you lose some.

with the rabbits getting wise we then moved off to another spot. saw 3 rabbits scuttle past infront as we headed to get set up. stopped to see a big old buck merrily chomping away so he got the wrong end of a .22. that was rabbit number 3 in the bag but number 4 shot :D .when i got to him i had to drop another pellet through his brain as the first one went in the neck. stopped him in his tracks but was not an instant kill.

decided to let my mate have a go with my new gun, even though it killed me as i was having too much fun.

first shot he squeezed off, decent sized doe, in one eye and out the other. rabbit number 4 in the bag :D

we decided to call it a day as i didnt want to shoot if the power was dropping.

all in all 4 rabbits to take home and some very happy ferrets ! :D

sorry for dribbling on lads.............

I have the same Falcon with the Skeleton stock.

Build quality is not the best, it's a nightmare to line up the magazine/probe engagement, and the barrel is as flexible as a bass guitar string......BUT I love it, and I can't believe how straight it shoots!!!

...and just look what a VERY Clever man made for me......

It's rude to talk money, it was a challenge and a labour of love for which I am very grateful!!

Commercially they would be very expensive!

Aluminiun

Brass

Stainless and Bronze

(I think..I really should remember!)

The black plastic one is a genuine Falcon job!!!

The other side......
