Recommended Posts

hi all just need a bit of help getting my head around some people saying pens are no good for housing my lurchers.....

i got a letter this morning saying both my pens have come down after the local council came round ....a few lads on the estate were we all live have working terriers and lurchers housed in pens but she said pens are no good they all have to come down and dogs have to be on kennels and chains........

my pen is 6ft high 8 ft long by 6 ft wide with mesh fronts and concreat base and new corrigated sheet roof with a good size kennel inside and i have 2 one for each lurcher ....she said we all was in breach of are tennentcy agrement and iv read front to back 10 times and it says naff all about not aloud dog runs or sheds :wallbash::angry: and iv had runs up for 10 years and no one said boo

so befor i get the solisiters involved :gunsmilie: :protest: :rtfm: i just wont a bit of feed back on what people think about benifits and disadvanteges about runs to kennel and chains........

i can only think of good points about a run and not so good about kennel and chains

I dont think they are to bothered what the dog lives in, i think more so the building. Are they council owned propertys? Because if so, they will have it writen down somewhere, you know what they are like. How did they know they where there, you must have someone near to you who has complained.

Just remove the dog, bring it in to the house, then tell them its your shed!!! theres no law in having a shed!. When all settles down move it back in...

id be abit canny about this and speak to someone, we get street patrols and one of the jobsworths told me my grass in the front was to long,at the time i,d no mower, so i nicely explained that to the coloured gentleman and was polite, he told me to it cut or there would be probs, ok says i,anyhow igot me a mower and did as iwas asked, the next day i got a snotty letter about it from this ethnic gentleman saying there would be action taken if nothing was done, my garden was in order and looked nice, i was by now steaming, i rang said gentleman and asked him to come and see me, he never turned out, them the next week i see,s him having a poke at a neighbour, thats it the gloves are off, i told the coloured gentleman, that he obviously had nothing better to do, and to shove his pen and his letters as far up the councils alley as he could and mind his own buisness, ive been left alone ever since, dont let them bully you.

shorly if i have had any complants the soliciter will be able to get hold of them and see what they say .. but my agreement says nothing about sheds or dog runs and that in its self should be enough to argue my point ....but i think aswell but the dogs are a lot more happy loose to do what they want not to be restricted to how much chain they have .......and i dont know what will happen if i do put them on a chain what if she goes mental and howls and barks all night then there will be a problem......what do you lot think the benifits are been in a run and the disadvantages about been on a chain cos i will take some ideas with me to the solisitor...i might even get the r.s.p.c.a round to give ther opinion
