To walk any kind of distance then I think boots are a must.

Even if you pay 200 pounds, if it's a decent pair then it's money well spent considering the milage you get out of them whilst being warm and comfortable.

To be honest lad's i always wear rigger's,

Never had a problem with them for years now and there as comfy as slipper's,

With on that one had a pair for years but got a new pair as lost the other ones comfort at its finest.

have to disagree I walk miles in my wellies, have done for years, I've never found a 100% waterproof boot yet.

:rofl: nice one! im a welly man too and wear them much more than anything else.doesnt matter which ones,i rarely get 8mths out of them.my current ones have a huge hole near the top where a mates eagle owl had a chew the cu*t....

thanks for all your replies :clapper: put it to ultimate test today, went out across brecon beacons welly on one foot,boot on other-nothing else on bloody freezing soaking wet :( police just released me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!wellies all the way

I could not answer this as I use anything from flip flops to boots and wellies as well, depending on the day, weather and terrain. Today was a boots day.
