moonlighter 1,164
Everone has there own styles of hunting but your best bet, if you want to course hares in the summer is this;...... First of all get yourself a suberu 4x4. Then get yourself some reebok classic trainers followed by some adidas 3 strip tracky bottoms.........then take a young dog, normally under 12 months and load it into the back of your car with about 6 other dogs and 3 more mates.........then find a big fat hare(these are usually the pregnant ones) and slip your dog at close range...if your dog struggles to catch it then as a tip, try slipping the other 5 dogs...........I also prefer to run on rock hard summer plough as this really toughens the dogs feet up........and then finnally, when the farmer turns up......kick the shit out of him and set fire to his barn.......hope this helps......happy hunting..........TIP;; By following the above guide you will ensure that no locals will ever get permission on the fens ever again, thus leaving more hares for you to run Quote Link to post

inan 841
healthand safety is paramount on the fens, you,ll need a method statement(to avoid falling into dykes when being chased) and a written risk assessment(for other hazards), ie angry farmers, and hi,viz, is essential so when you do get nailed the plod can pick up your mangled bodyout of the ramsey forty foot, on second thoughts dont come we,ve enough inbreds, we dont want new blood. Don't forget the helicopter on 24hrs stand by, which you locals are paying for. Quote Link to post

If you manage to avoid all these hazards you will probably get run down by a Pole or Kosovan ,or maybe just bundled into a dyke. Have fun! Quote Link to post
runforyourlife 361
Are we to be concerned about the locals here or what, dont really understand. We pay for all the ilegals around here, think thats a little more worrying than out of towners chasing a big ear... Quote Link to post
desertdog 149
i think we are just making a few pointers, for the safety of people coming to the fen, now we would,nt want any accidents, and also may i point out, dont forget to leave the dogs behind, and make sure you turn up the fields in your roo or just leave it in the field for the dogs to sleep in when you leg it,and leave the hares you caught on the side of the road to feed local foxes. Guest anonymous
Most importantly.............. make sure if it's in the winter, your dog has a good dose of saluki in it, you'll not catch anything otherwise....... Quote Link to post
