help finding rat's

alrite lads. im looking 4 a few tips on where to look and find the little b****ds. been finding the odd few but after finding a nest of them. were do thay like hideing out best? thanks brett

fish factories and down the fish dock...been to a few farms but haveing found 1 to be honist mate

on the farms mate just look under any old piles of crap, check the hedgerows for burrows, get the farmer to move some bails, is there much poison down? do you use dogs, smokers or ferts?

terrier mate and a strimmer as a smoker. the thing is i havnt found any rat holes to put the smoker down. im new to ratting as iv just been runing dogs the last few years. like you say just need to get in the middle of it and move shit around.

go next to pheasent/partridge rearing pens or next to cover crop,usually loads of holes.

we find that a constant food source like a grain store to be the best or around any penned livestock , bails are good these were from a yard where grain was open and opposite the bail store , you can clearly spot the holes and greasy runs when there are a few about. another good method we use is to lamp these barns at night with the terriers on slip leads , it seems to work best if you put a few boards against wall for them to run to when the lights are turned on and then you can pick them off one by one.

any pig farms near you mate?feed bins ,pheasant pens.landfills,skip hire yards.recycling plants.farm tips.canels or dykes.good luck mate.is your dog entered to rats?

if you do any ratting inside farm buildings, look for dirty marks aroud the walls, where they run. They never run across the middle of the room. Follow the s***ty marks and it will eventually lead you to a tunnel or hole. They are phenomenal climbers. I was trapping some that lived in a wall cavity and they were climbing up a sheer brick wall to get into the nest. Anywhere there is a food source for them, they will be nearby.
