noddy10 411
went fishing last night and had a decent night, but on the way home we got a pull off a wanker copper. he checked the van over all ok tax, test insurance. but then he sed to my mate your licence has ran out. my mate says has it feck, the copper wouldnt have it and ordered a recovery truck and took the keys... any way spencer picked us up and took us home, cheers mate. my mate has been on to the dvla thismorning and his licence is fully valid till august 2010. they said the copper had no right to take the moter. so its guna cost £150 to get it out the pound. even the recovery bloke says hes never heard ov them being taken like that as it should show up on the dvla data base..which it did when my mate rang thismorning. hes off down now with all his legitt documents... any ideas what the best way to go about it? Rainmaker 7
Bloody hell that's rough! I'd be making a complaint to his Inspector and THEN to the Professional Standards Unit or whatever they're called. The latter are bloody ruthless by all accounts (similar to the American's Internal Affairs) and like a bit of Bobby blood when they can get it lol... So I heard anyway. Worth a try mate. Push for your mate's cash back and tell them you want compo for your trouble (your mate incurred expenses in fuel and time to pick you up etc which is a real loss). Take legal advice as was said above. Good luck
