Archangel 0
Hey people. I havent done any real fishing, just been away with old friends who were fishing and stuck a line in. That was years ago however and Im looking to get into fishing as a pastime. I want to catch fish and take them home so I need some advice on where to do this. In Scotland, I am in Glasgow but I will travel but want a few places that are relatively close so Idont need to spend all day getting there. Can someone let me know what the script is with fishing in rivers? I know you can get a licence but is this for certain parts of certain rivers or what? If I get a trout licence and catch something like salmon on the off chance, whats the script with that, do I need to pay extra, return the salmon to the river, what? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks. Quote Link to post
poacher3161 1,766
Thats a good question about the salmon so it might pay you to get a salmon & sea trout ea rod licence instead of the course and trout though theirs a big difference in the price.A lot of rivers are free fishing down this neck of the woods but i doubt they would if salmon were running in them. It might be a good idea to look on this website www.enviroment-agency.gov.uk/fish atvb Quote Link to post
