Bore snake 17hmr

Has anyone encountered any problems when using a Boresnake for a 17hmr ?

The only problem i had was the brass wieght wouldnt fit through the barrel ,but after a file down it works well.

Had the exact same problem myself but a file down sorted it out.

ive got one and its the only thing i ever clean my hmr with. ive noticed when the bore is very dirty then it does take patience to get down the barrel. apart from that no trouble at all

Had a nightmare with 2 of them - string snapped and got the damn thing stuck. NEVER AGAIN

I have a boresnake for my .17HMR but don't use it, i clean the .17 as if it was a centrefire using KG12 and mops!

Used one since day one and never had any problems at all. The .17hmr seems to be a pretty dirty round so I run it through when I get back from shooting even if I have only fired once.

Never had any trouble with mine but wrap it round something and pull through. Rips into your hand if you don't. Every 6/700 rounds i fill the barrel with millfoam like the centrefires as i agree its a dirty cartridge. If the empties are sticking you have bad fouling in the chamber. Time for a real clean then. Millfoam then the boresnake works for me.
