The two 'nice boys' were 'concerned' when we showed them the rifles and load of rabbit we had in the back and the next thing we knew the boys in black arrived all tetrostroned up and arrogant as ever. They flipped when we showed them the long net (which they said was for poaching), and the bucket full of mole traps which they had to ask what they were used for. To cap it all, the spade, dibber and old bayonet (used for cutting turf) brought a sargent on the scene. He must have been 90 years of age, done it all, seen it all, read it all, owned the tee shirt, and eaten the pie. Looked at what we had, asked if we had our authority to shoot to hand (we did) and politly asked if we could spare a couple of rabbits. One brace in his boot and we were free to go. Half an hour of bull from four youngsters in uniform and 5 minutes with someone with a bit of sense. We came to the conclusion that if stopped again we were going to ask of there was someone on duty over the age of 30 we could speak to in order to save time! Quote Link to post
Lee85 44 Posted July 8, 2009 Author Report Share Posted July 8, 2009 I'm 24 and these two who collered us were about my age to be honest, they didn't have a clue. Once got stopped as a kid, i was about 15, with my relum tornado in a dissused car park near my house, someone had seen me and called the police, this was before I knew about permisson or anything, I was just shooting old tins, they raced up to be and disarmed me but the copper basically said 'i do a bit of shooting myself and to be honest your not in a bad place lad, i'll have to ask you to go home tho' which was sound enough.
