matty73 4
have you tried retrieving any hares with them? ignore the idiots mate hes probably just watched his first lurcher dvd and now hes an expert any way where were we havnt retrieved with the pups like i say i havnt really done much with them, probally will this season though they maturing nicely by the season they will be nearly two. big red and white dog has a nice easy running style rather than the burst of speed of the two bitches but only time will tell and im in no rush they either will retrieve or they wont not about to worry, worrying is like a rocking chair it gives you something to do but it doesnt get you anywhere.what dogs you running mate any pics Quote Link to post
matty73 4
I have a whippet bitch but shes nothing special. so I am looking for something with saluki in it. I liked the look of a saluki grey x beddy grey on another topic but I doubt I'll find one for sale. how old is your whippet and what type of hunting do you do, are you looking for an allrounder in your new dog Quote Link to post
Room101 1
I think [bANNED TEXT] he means is when whippet xs cant hack it on the heavy going and black land dont think he was calling anybody a cock so no need to get shirty Quote Link to post
matty73 4
shes two I did a bit of ferreting with her and she wasn't the best she caught a few bushing with terriers. shes a house dog and my next will be kenneled. I was wanting a ferreting dog that would also do hares if the ban was lifted. I have been reccomended collies but this isn't the type of dog I want. shes just starting at two mate. my pups are just coming up two by september thats when theyll be ready for the work to get serious. the mother of the pups will be eight this season it took her three seasons to get the job sussed shes retired now through injury. the fatha is four he was a natural but still took two seasons of regular graft to hone his skills hes collie grey i can ferret or mouche all day with him go home have couple hours rest and then go out on lamp with him and i do that nearly every day unless hes looking tired or hes injured drives me mad when try to rest him if injured the black and white pup taking after him if she doesnt think she had a long enough run out she just stops dead and looks at me as if to say oh no im not going home yet pal .the collie x are good dogs but if thats not what you want then dont get one because you will never be happy with it no matter how good it is.put the time in with your bitch this season and she will do you proud i bet dont matter she in house mine are house dogs but it dont stop them grafting their hearts out for me because of the close bond that you dont always get with kennelled dogs Quote Link to post
