northwestmitch 9
I've allways thought that the Greyhound should be at least half of the Lurchers forebear, but I would love to see a Saluki X Whippet....... Back in the 60's, 70's, the owner of the greatest racing whippet, in my mind; Bilko; said he would have loved to see his his dog mated with a Saluki ! Cheers. Do you have anymore info on Bilco, Was he a Ped or Non Ped Whippet ? I have looked on Archive Whippets and cant find him , Im bringing on a young Whippet very pleased with him on the track and out in the field, His breeding is racing lines and coursing,His sire was the last pre ban champ, In the coursing season 2004/05 he ran 20 courses under rules and won 17. He is 20 inchs at the shoulder & 14.51 kg,,,31.99 pounds. I recon such a alliance with the right dogs would compliment and produce some decent dogs. IF anyones got any info that would be great. Cheers bilko was a nonped whippet ,is the sire to yours photofinish?i have a 3/4saluki/ghd x whippet 20"30lbs bred her myself ,is that close enough for ya ?,out lasts pure whippets, real fast too here s my ellie. the whippet i used was a nonped also Cheers for that mate, A nice looking bitch there, The non Peds defiantly have the edge on the Peds with the fusion of greyhound blood running through there veins and yes correct about the sire, It is Photo Finish I beleve he was a very good coursing Whippet in his day. twoface14 1
ok how do you see it twoface14? A lot will be the size of the parents and the you will get a few in-between but you will have a hard time knowing which are going to be which size . Ive seen plenty of 3/4 greyhound 1/4 whippet 20-22 and others that look like pure greyhounds from the same litter Quote Link to post
